Spider-Man Homecoming: Zendaya’s Character Revealed

At this point, you should know that “spoiler alert” is all over this one, so if you don’t want to know who Zendaya is going to be playing in the new Spider-Man: Homecoming movie, leave now!

…We’re serious!

…Last chance

…According to the novelization of the movie which is always released before the movie and often doles out a few spoilers, Zendaya’s character has been given a first and last name. That name is Michelle Toomes. Yes, Toomes, as in Adrian Toomes daughter. This adds even more of a spark of intrigue to the movie, as we’ve seen interactions between Peter and Michelle in trailers, so you can only assume her being the Vulture’s daughter is going to matter. Now we know why they hid who Zendaya was playing this whole time. Spider-Man: Homecoming premieres on July 7th, everywhere!

What if interracial relationships gave you super powers? Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger wants to find out.

Well, that was fast. Only a few weeks after filling in the top line roles for Cloak & Dagger, we already have our first trailer! The show is coming to Freeform and the trailer looks like the show will fit in with the normal fare on that channel (Pretty Little Liars, anyone?) It also features one of my favorites – a story based on an interracial relationships. Truth be told, the only superpower that comes from those is pretty babies (thanks Mom & Dad.)

The cast for this one is pretty strong, so as long as we can get past the idea of starting this story at the YA level, we should be in for some fun. We’ll be discussing this and more, this Sunday at the Trusty Sidekick Live Podcast recording, this Sunday (4/23) at the Laugh Factory in Chicago. James Gunn Stakes His Confidence A Strong Sequel, Confirms His Return For Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 3

46903548.cached

“So, yes, I’m returning to write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”

With that simple statement in a Facebook post on his page, earlier today, James Gunn locked in some great news, prior to the release of Vol. 2, coming May 5th. In the post, Gunn talks about the difficulties of putting together the sequel to the surprise hit, the desire not to do a third, solely for the money, and not wanting to, “become a part of that dishonorable tradition of pretending the third one doesn’t exist.”

He closes the post with shoutouts to the entire Marvel Studios team, Marvel comics, Stan Lee and of course, the Guardians. Truly a classy post and one that shows the heart and quality of the talent Marvel consistently puts together. Looking forward to the opening of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 2 on May 5th. You know we’ll be discussing it in detail!

Make sure to catch us at C2E2 this week, and contact us for free tickets to the first ever, Trusty Sidekick Live Podcast, followed by a Trusty Sidekick Stand-Up Show, both at the Laugh Factory in Chicago.
