Legends Of Tomorrow Gives Us A Season 4 Synopsis and Poster

DCs-Legends-Of-Tomorrow-CW-Season-4-Poster

The third season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was a perfect culmination of another hilarious and adventurous trek through time and history with unexpected implications. We saw all six of the totems of Zambesi be used to form a giant Beebo to defeat Mallus (even though many of us were really hoping for Voltron) and once our heroes seemingly with the new inclusion of Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) were able to relax knowing time had been restored.

That was until John Constantine (Matt Ryan) showed up with a dragon’s head and informed the captain, Sara Lance that upon freeing Mallus they opened up time and history to an entire new horde of threats. The season finale also saw “Vixen”, Amaya return home to her village in Zambesi to her rightful place in time and leave her budding relationship with Nate Heywood.

Now this sounds pretty much simple as to guess how we would be rolling into season four, right? Well maybe not, a new synopsis of Season 4 has been released as well as a poster of the team that may raise a few eyebrows. Check out the synopsis below.

After defeating the demon Mallus by cuddling him to death with a giant stuffed animal named Beebo, the Legends are ready to ease off the gas. Sara (Caity Lotz) and her team join Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) and the Time Bureau to help clean up the last few remaining anachronisms. The job seems straightforward enough until Constantine (Matt Ryan) arrives to inform them that, in solving one major problem, they have created another, much larger one. When the Legends let time crumble in order to release and defeat Mallus, the barrier between worlds softened. History is now infected with “Fugitives” – magical creatures from myths, fairytales, and legends. Having been expelled throughout time by people like Constantine, these Fugitives are now returning to our world in droves and making a real mess of things. As the Time Bureau is distrustful of and ill-equipped to deal with magic, the Legends must team up with everyone’s favorite demonologist to set history back on track.

Sara and Constantine are joined by compassionate inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), hotheaded ex-con Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), rebellious totem-bearer Zari (Tala Ashe), and heartbroken historian-turned-superhero Nate (Nick Zano) as they set out to save the world – and their legacy. It’s the familiar fun of the Legends time-travelling across historical events and encountering famous figures with an added shot of magical craziness!

Now if you noticed, Ava Sharpe is not in the poster, more than likely her full duties as director of the Time Bureau may keep her not as involved even though its been stated that she will indeed return as a series regular for this upcoming season. Also not in the poster is Wally West. It was said that he is supposed to be a regular on the show but could he possibly be returning to The Flash??.

Another item that has piqued interest is the inclusion of Amaya in the poster but not in the synopsis. How might that play out when we was saw her she was stating that she wanted to stay with her village.

Television Upfronts Bring Big Changes To Arrowverse, Patience For Agents Of Shield

With this year’s television upfronts having just concluded, we are now getting info on where and when we’ll see the return of some of our favorites from both DC and Marvel, and boy are there some surprises.

As you may know if you’re following us on the podcast (here,) the fates of the CW shows weren’t determined until about a month ago. Despite a lot of people questioning whether Supergirl, Flash or even Arrow should return, all are back, possibly aided by the fact that the network is expanding to a sixth night of programming (Sunday.)

While Flash’s fifth season will continue to be the lead-in to the very strong and entertaining, Black Lightning, remaining in the Tuesday night spot it’s held since it’s inception, Supergirl will move from the Monday night spot it had for it’s first three seasons (one on CBS, two on CW,) to Sunday’s at 8pm, 7 CST. Legends Of Tomorrow will now be locked in the Monday 8pm/7 CST slot it thrived in this year, and it will now be followed by Arrow! Oliver and crew had a very strong comeback season, really a second in a row, after everyone freaked out over too much magic being involved in season 4. Supergirl, Legends, Arrow, Flash and closing with Black Lightning makes for a much stronger lineup and wraps everything up by Tuesday night each week.

Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been given a 13-episode 6th season, which almost no one would’ve guessed, after last year’s story about Disney needing to “strongly urge” ABC to bring the show back. To no surprise of the actual fans of the show, we were treated to another fabulous season, which tied up so many loose ends and has us eager for another. The twist is when we will actually get to see them. As you may know if you’re watching, they explicitly connected Thanos attacking Earth in Infinity War, to the show. The concern many had upon the announcement of the 6th season, was that we’d see AoS come back before the issues stemming from Thanos snapping his fingers, had played out. The good news is, that won’t be a problem. The bad news, is the reason why. We won’t get the premiere of season 6 until the summer of 2019, meaning after the events of Avengers 4 play out. As a fan, this is bittersweet. Happy for another season, sad you have to wait.

I think the positives outweigh the negatives all the way around here. What about you? Let us know what you think!

The CW Invites Everyone Back For Another Year

One of the things that was just discussed on the most recent episode of the podcast, released this morning (available here,) was that up until last night, Black Lightning had been the only CW superhero show that had been renewed. It’s been one of the best on television and deserved it, and with the ongoing struggles of all but one of the other shows, (thank you, Legends,) and pilot season just passing, hesitation made sense.

Everything was resolved this morning, as The CW has announced the return of the entire Arrowverse for another go, next season. Arrow will return for it’s seventh season, Flash for it’s fifth, Legends and Supergirl will get their fourth, along with the aforementioned second season of Black Lightning. Flash will officially hit 100 episodes thanks to it’s additional season. Amazingly, Supergirl, a show that started on another network, and Legends of Tomorrow, a show about “valueless” characters, thrown together (to often needle the Marvel universe – listen to our pod!) are a season away from also reaching the magic milestone of 100 episodes, themselves. Maybe this is the benefit of the network moving to 6 nights of programming, but we’re not complaining.

With this, we’re hoping each series ups the quality of show they’re putting out. We’ve had major issues with the paths that the longest running shows have taken (Ollie and Barry, we’re looking at you.) It would be great to see all of the series hit a stride that apes what their newest sibling has hit – or maybe having a series that’s sharp for a year or two and then fizzles is the Berlanti way. Either way, we’re excited to see what’s next. What do you think? Let us know!
