Remember The Flash Movie? It Has Directors (as in two,) Again

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley

With Walter Hamada firmly in control of the DC film universe and business in the new year starting to pick up, it seemed like official announcements were coming at any moment. That moment has happened, as the Flash movie (Flashpoint? The Ezra Miller One) has now picked up it’s 3rd director. Well, 3rd and 4th, as John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have been tasked with helming the scarlet speedster’s feature length story.

If you’re unfamiliar with Daley and Goldstein, they were the writers behind Spider-Man: Homecoming, which bodes very well and plays into my belief that DC wants to keep the Flash as their Peter Parker-type character. They almost directed Homecoming until John Watts became available. On the downside, they also wrote the Vacation remake. Either way, the movie will obviously take a more comical tone, which already makes telling the Flashpoint story even more questionable. Joby Harold’s script is still the one they’ll direct as of this post.

Warner Bros. has had the luxury of taking their time here, with Miller in another major franchise under their banner that’s just started filming – the second Fantastic Beasts movie. There’s a weird outside chance that the delay and change may have been just what the film needed. Is this a solid first move by Hamada? Tell us what you think!

Crisis On Earth-X! The Trailer For The CW DC Crossover Arrives!

Since the first CW superhero crossover, each one has gotten better and better. Last year’s Dominators storyline was solid, but the trailer for this year’s looks incredible!

Already slated to have upwards of 20 characters on-screen at a time, the 2-night, 4 show event will be covering the famed Barry-Iris wedding, one of the most famous in all of comic book history. The core story for this year revolves around an attack from the 53rd universe in the known DC world, Earth-X. Iris and Barry’s wedding is interrupted by an assault from Nazi’s and anti-heroes – including evil versions of Arrow, Flash and Supergirl, and it will take the full onslaught of CW’s full catalog, plus newcomer, The Ray, to save the day.

Supergirl kicks everything off on Monday, November 27th at it’s normal time slot, followed by a special Monday edition of Arrow. Flash and Legends will follow on Tuesday at their normal times, and we can’t wait!
